Koalas Room
Our Koalas room is designed to support a transition period for children moving up from the Possums room. We use this time to monitor and evaluate your child's progress whilst providing a supportive and caring environment.
We try to move children up with their friends from the Possums room to the Koalas' room to make for a smoother transition before they move into the Wallabies' room.

Building on skills from the Quokkas & Possums room — five key developmental areas prepare every Koala for their exciting next step into the Wallabies.
Building Confidence & Independence
Our Koalas room is designed to support the transition period for children moving up from the Possums room. We use this time to monitor and evaluate your child's progress whilst providing a supportive and caring environment.
Children continue developing across all five key areas — with a growing emphasis on independence, problem-solving and preparation for the Nursery journey ahead in our Wallabies room.
Children are refining their fine and gross motor skills — learning to walk, run and climb while improving hand-eye coordination through drawing and stacking.
Cognitive abilities are rapidly growing. Children are becoming more curious and interested in their surroundings — simple problem-solving, language development and memory skills are emerging.
This age is marked by growing independence and social interactions. Children begin to show empathy and develop attachments to caregivers. They may experience separation anxiety, which is a normal part of development.
Vocabulary expands quickly. They start using basic sentences, follow simple instructions and engage in conversations with others.
Play is a vital aspect of their development. They explore the world through imaginative and pretend play, enhancing creativity and problem-solving skills.
