A Room for Every Stage of the Journey
Every Child Supported,
Every Family Valued
Our centre recognises that some children will need extra assistance and support, and our team is committed to delivering the very best of care to each of them. We strongly encourage parents and caregivers to speak with our Family Director about their child's individual needs.
Our friendly team of educators and caregivers are trained and equipped to care for children with additional needs, and can help provide a safe, compassionate and inclusive environment for all children in our service.
We are proud to be building strong community ties with our local Wagga Wagga community. There are so many amazing things and people in our community and we are excited to bring those experiences to our children.
We connect with local community services to organise incursions including visits from police officers, firefighters, dog safety programs, sports programs and magic shows. We also plan excursions to the Museum of the Riverina, Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens, Kurrajong Recycling Centre and the Civic Theatre.

The Wonderful People
Behind the Magic ✨
Professional, passionate and deeply committed to every child in our care — meet the faces of Gurwood Early Learning.
Hello, my name is Emma and I am proud to be the Centre Director at Gurwood Early Learning. I've had the joy of leading this amazing team since we opened and am always looking to continue building a strong, supportive environment for our children, families and educators.
My journey in early childhood education began in 2013, starting as an assistant educator. Over the years, I've worked hard to grow professionally, taking on roles such as Educational Leader, Assistant Director and Director. Through these experiences, I discovered my true passion in leading and mentoring teams to continuously improve our practices and create meaningful, lasting outcomes for children and their families.
Outside of work, I'm a mum of four and a grandmother to one, with another grandchild on the way. Family means everything to me, whether we're out camping, cruising or enjoying a trail run. I bring this same sense of connection, commitment and enthusiasm into my role each day, and I'm dedicated to making Gurwood a place where every child feels safe, supported and inspired to learn.
Hi my name is Tayla but a lot of family and friends call me Tay. I am a 35 year old mum with two children aged 6yrs and 4yrs along with 3 step children aged 8, 7 and 6yrs old. I live at home with my husband, 2 children, a fish and 2 dogs.
I hold my Diploma in Early Childhood and have almost 16 years experience in the industry and have an absolute big passion for working and caring for young children. I have been in all different roles including room assistant, room leader, 2IC and Director. I take pride in working as a team and thrive on mentoring educators to shaping them to be the best Educator they can be.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends - walking the dogs, bike riding with the kids, going to indoor play centres, fishing, sports, dance and lots more!
Hi I'm Laura, and I am an Early Childhood Educator with over 20 years of experience. I grew up on a farm in country Victoria, where I completed my studies before moving to the hustle and bustle of Melbourne.
During my years in Melbourne, I worked at a beautiful centre in Brighton, building my career before welcoming my first child. My family and I later relocated to Wagga to be closer to loved ones.
Throughout my career, I have held a variety of roles, including Centre Director, Assistant Director, Group Leader, and Safety Champion. Each of these positions has strengthened my knowledge, skills, and passion for creating safe, nurturing, and enriching learning environments for children.
I am deeply committed to caring for and educating young children, and I was thrilled to join Gurwood Early Learning, where I have embraced a new and exciting role as Educational Leader. I have enjoyed supporting our team, inspiring quality practice and helping children thrive each day.
Hi there my name is Amber I am 25 years old and moved to Wagga in late January 2025. My partner and I had a baby girl in August 2022. We then got married in November 2024! We relocated from Young to start a new patch of our life and explore bigger things, we have loved exploring and experiencing Wagga thus far!
Childcare is my passion. I love building strong relationships with families and getting to know their children. Learning alongside both our team and the children and being the best educator I can be to support each child’s development, is my main goal.
Hi, my name is Robyn, and I've been a proud member of the early childhood education and care industry for over 23 years. I hold a Certificate III in Children's Services.
I was born in Casino on the North Coast of NSW and moved away when I was 21. I've been happily married to my husband Phil for over 35 years, and together we have four wonderful children and eleven beautiful grandchildren who are the light of our lives.
Outside of work, I love exploring Australia in our caravan, especially relaxing around a campfire during winter. On weekends, I enjoy cheering on the Swifts in netball and am a loyal supporter of St George and GWS Giants in the footy. More recently, I've taken up rock painting as a creative hobby - I find joy in leaving these painted treasures in public places for others to find and enjoy.
I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of this rewarding profession and to contribute to the growth and happiness of the children in our care.
Our Incredible Educators 🌟

Hi, I am Abbie, I am an assistant and trainee at Gurwood. I have absolutely loved working at the service and using this opportunity to learn and grow as an educator.
It's been a wonderful start to my career because of the support I am receiving.

Hi I’m Kane, and I am a part of the Management and Administration team at Gurwood. I previously worked as an accountant and in hospitality management. You’ll usually find me in the reception, however I’m currently studying my Certificate III, so at times you may also see me out on the floor learning from and supporting our lovely educators.
Outside of work, I enjoy road trips around Victoria. I’ve ridden my bike to Warrnambool, Geelong, Melbourne, Sydney and Lakes Entrance and I’m hoping to do a lap of Australia soon. During summer, I love spending time at Lake Eildon with my family and getting out on the water.

Hi, I'm Perri. I've always had a natural love for being around children - their energy, honesty and curiosity bring so much meaning to my day.
I chose a career in childcare because I truly believe in the importance of those early years. Every moment, big or small, helps shape who a child becomes.
I love encouraging creativity, independence, and kindness and seeing each child's confidence grow as they learn and discover new things. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors or just grabbing a coffee.

I became an educator because it has always been my passion. From a young age, I took on the role of teacher and caregiver for my younger siblings. My heart is drawn to children and I feel a strong desire to nurture them, care for them and be a part of their early learning journey.
I have a deep appreciation for the colour yellow, it symbolises the brightness and vibrance of the sun. I have a passion for traveling and discovering new places.

Builder by trade, farm girl by heart and child-wrangler by profession! With 12 years in early childhood education across a range of age groups, I bring plenty of experience, patience, and love to my role. Outside of work I’m usually on the farm with sheep or cattle, camping, or chasing my busy 3-year-old. I love rodeos, muddy boots, and a good yarn and I can’t wait to get to know your little one!
Children learn best when they’re having fun and getting a little messy along the way! I believe in play-based learning, big belly laughs, and helping little ones grow into kind, curious and confident humans. Whether we’re painting, playing in the mud, or dancing like no one’s watching, I’m here to cheer them on every step of the way. Every child is unique, and I love getting to know their quirks, strengths, and wild imaginations!

Hi, I'm Rowie and I am excited to be the Quokka's room leader for 2026.
I was born in Wagga, lived in Tarcutta till I was 4 and then my family and I relocated to Sydney.
30 years later, I have relocated from Gunnedah back to Wagga with my husband Tom and 2 sons, Lincoln and Maverick and our beautiful german shepherd Turbo.
I love exploring new places with my family, the colour purple, running, netball, iced caramel lattes and springtime.
I have only been in childcare for 4 years, but I have loved every single one of those years. I believe that whilst we as educators, our job is to help guide children in their younger years and to reach their developmental milestones, they are the real teachers. They remind us every day to laugh at the silly things, to not make life too seriously and that sometimes, all we need is a hug.

Hi, I’m Christina. This is me as a little one, already loving dressing up!
I’m a gentle and caring educator who enjoys creating a calm and safe space where children feel comfortable and supported. I connect with children through patience, play, and understanding, and love being part of their everyday learning and growth.
Fun facts about me:
• I was a very quiet child growing up
• I never say no to something sweet
• I enjoy a bit of dress-up and creativity
