Our Bandicoots room is dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 12 months to 2 years. Our curriculum is designed to promote holistic development in the following key areas:
Development stages for our Possums:
Physical Development: Encourage gross motor skills and opportunities to practice crawling, walking, jumping and playing with various toys.
Cognitive Development: Exploring colours, shapes and textures to stimulate curiosity and problem-solving. We begin to introduce basic concepts like cause and effect, sorting and matching
Social and Emotional Development: Creating a safe and nurturing environment to foster trust and attachment. Encouraging interactions with peers, promoting sharing and cooperative play
Language and Communication: Engaging in verbal and non-verbal communication to support early language development. Reading age-appropriate books and singing songs to promote language skills
Sensory Exploration: Providing sensory-rich experiences through activities that involve touch, smell, taste, sight and sound
